Hi, I am a qualified VFD/SCR electrician, worked both on/offshore. Had jobs in Algeria, Sedco/Alfor and Parker drilling Hassi Messaoud in 1974-1980, then again 2006 for Saipem. Would like to go back working there and live again in Spain/Mallorca. Any contact/vacancy.

Well no 2 & 3 need to be changed around but really what is being talked about here ? How are these figures arrived at and for whom "exactly" ?
I would say that they are for staff positions which are supplemented with paid public holidays, paid annual vacations, maybe company car company provision / allowances, compulsory employer superannuation contributions, paid corporate health insurance premiums, company stock participation, etc, etc ??
Where for example are the oilfield consultant company men, superintendents, drilling managers ........
Out of curiosity, the above link seems to describe what Rigzone did to come up with the figures. The "5 jobs" article does not seem accurate to me because of jobs NOT mentioned that definitely DO pay more, but who knows ...
The older postings in this thread about offshore wages seem outdated based on my experience. Could probably use an update there .......

Hi guys, new member and first post.
I'm wondering if anyone has any salary info for an entry level DSM with Chevron in south Texas or offshore GOM. Also, perhaps how quickly they can expect to be increased in the first year or two.
Thanks for any insight. I hope this is the right place to be posting this.
